Westcrest Community Parks Planning Meeting – UPDATE

Sometime back the Seattle Disc Golf community joined the Westcrest Park neighborhood community to voice their thoughts on how the land at Westcrest Park should be used. Out of that meeting the city parks planning team has put some ideas together and are now requesting we group again and see what they are proposing. Below is the email I received from them as well as a link to the PDF they provided.

” Join in the planning for this new park on the West Seattle Reservoir at Westcrest Park. Already the community has provided great ideas and this meeting is an opportunity to meet the design team, preview the schematic designs and provide additional feedback.

Come meet your neighbors and plan a park on Saturday, April 24 at 10 a.m. at the Southwest Community Center!

Please post this flyer and email to your distribution list. Thank you in advance for supporting this project in the Highland Park neighborhood.

Change in Plans – No Weekend Game

Hey folks. The weather looks crummy all weekend and I am fighting some massive chest congestion so I am not going to schedule a game for this weekend. If the weather makes a turn for the better we may make a last minute change, but for now let’s plan on next week for our next game.

Also, we have officially finished the first half of our Bag Tag Challenge and entry is closed.

Disc T’s On Order – what next?

Our shirts have been ordered. I don’t expect to have them for a while but I will keep you all posted. I have been thinking of other items we might brand and design for the masses like disc towels or skullcaps…just thoughts. Enjoy the sample images in the mean time and as always, if you have an idea for a design please let me know.

No Games This Week

Just a note to everyone that I am not scheduling anything this week.  I will be out of town Friday through Monday so hopefully I can get some games up for next week.

We are up to eight players in the Bag Tag and we have already seen some numbers changing hands.  Keep trying to get more people to join as registration is open until the end of March.

Side note here, on Monday Mike Plympton and I drove to Portland and scored with a glorious afternoon of 36 holes at Pier Park.  This course really is a must play when you are down there.  This course has it all.  Elevation shots, tight lines with tons of trees, long open holes and a really clean and well kept park.  Check it out!

Your Avatar – No Not The Movie

Some of you RoundBranders have asked how to get that litte image next to your name on comments.  Well here is the quick and dirty.

  1. Got to http://en.gravatar.com/ and sign-up for an account
  2. Upload the image you want to use.
  3. Use the email address associated to your Gravatar when making a comment and registering with RoundBrand.
  4. Voila – you now have you very own avatar that will follow you no matter if it is posting on RoundBrand or posting somewhere else that has the Gravatar plug-in enabled.

Now what image to choose?  I am happy to help with that too.  Here are 4 avatars from RoundBrand.
