Roundbrand Rankings 9/29/08

This is the final Rankings for September.  Only one more month to go before we reach a full year of competitive Roundbrand play.  You will notice that the six people who participated in yesterday’s Tournament received nice jumps up in their scores.  Ethan and Richard both made big moves.  I hope to recap our day either tomorrow or Wednesday.

Here is the Leaderboard.

Disc Golf Round – 3/2/08 @ North Sea-Tac

Okay Disc Golfers we are going to play on Sunday at 1PM at North Sea-Tac this weekend. As of now Sunday is looking like our best bet for staying dry. Let’s get a good sized crew this weekend and tear that course up before everything blooms and reduces our fairways by 50%.

On another note, we are trying very hard to encourage the City of Seattle to get a course set up in a park located closer to the city center. They have asked us to provide some info on how many citizens would really put this to use. Please email us via the link at the top of the page if you are interested in helping us convince the city on this issue.

Folfling Technique – Forehand and Backhand

Now I am not one to follow rules so this is going to be on of those, “Do as I teach and not as I do” situations. I have found many resources for the proper Forehand throwing technique and the best yet is found on the INNOVA Disc Golf site.

I am an avid forehand thrower but have learned that in some situations, such as our recent Northgate round, that tight fairways and my form of forehand don’t mix well. So I have been learning to do a little backhand work which is currently pretty ugly.

My advice for anyone looking to improve their throw is find out what works for you and practice in the open to start, then challenge yourself to a course or two.

Enjoy your folfing!
