We have not had many chances to play White River straight up with no teams and I really wanted to give it a go.  As a group we have had our best team scores at this course and I really wanted to see how some of us would perform playing it alone.  Well, we only had four of us out for this game and the results were mixed to say the least.

Jonathan had a solid game save a couple of holes.  Hole 7 in particular did him no favors as he hit a tree on four successive shots.  However, beyond that blip he played a very solid round.  His putting was a little off at times, but his score was actually very respectable.

As for myself, I played great the first 6 holes and the terrible for the next 12.  For whatever reason I was not getting my usual quality out of my second shots which was leaving me attempting to approach on my third shot quite regularly.  When you play this course without a teammate it becomes apparent fast that one bad shot can really bury you in the woods and I had plenty of bad shots.

Now for the success stories of the day.  Cathy played a nice round overall, but her back 9 was particularly strong.  She made very few mistakes and kept her discs in the fairway throughout.  She gave me a great run for second place and did it all on a gimpy knee that was barking at her.

Lastly, Les showed himself to be a quick student in only his third time out with us.  He is already grasping the basics in terms of wrist snap and release points.  Given some practice I expect Les to be able to compete at a high level in a short period of time.  As you can see in the scores he really hung in there well for being so new to the game.  To only have four holes that went worse than bogey is great for someone so new to the game.

Scores are below the fold.
