We had a very nice showing of 9 players on Sunday for a game in the fog at Lakewood.  The first few holes my group could not even see the group in front of us.  It wasn’t until Hole 11 that the baskets started to become easy to see off in the haze.  All told I don’t think it hurt anyone’s game too much.  We had a very well played game with only 4 shots separating first from last.

It has been fun to have these more competitive matches as of late and this one did not disappoint.  On the Front 9 Plympton and I matched Linda and Weaver shot for shot until we finally pulled ahead on 9.  Then on the Back 9 we were paired with Jonathan and Mikayla.  They had a rough start on Holes 10 & 11, but started to charge back at us.  Thanks to a birdie on 13 and a par on 18 we held our ground for the victory.

Plympton was player of the day in my opinion as he has taken his game to a whole new level.  Tee shots are going long and straight for him now and he is putting well also.  Both Weaver and Jonathan had typically strong games for them, but a couple of errors on the Back 9 did them both in.

Shot of the day comes in two sizes, jumbo and mini.  Jumbo would be Weaver hitting a 120 foot birdie shot on 7.  It was one of those shots that you knew was in as soon as he released it.  Mini on the list was Mikayla sinking a 40 foot par putt on 5.  I was down on 4 and saw the whole thing.  It was pure gold and a perfect cap on the rapid improvement she has shown of late.

Quick reminder before I put the scores up, but we are still playing games in the dark at Sea-Tac.  This week it will be 6:30PM on Wednesday night.  Get your glow disc, a flashlight and come and join us.

Scores from Sunday are below the fold.
