Roundbrand Rankings 12/29/08 and Other Stuff

Well, we managed to get a game in yesterday that a whole three of us showed up for.  It was not pretty and so it will not be deserving of a full recap.  Suffice it to say that none of us played well.  Plympton and I could not drive all day and Jonathan’s normally trusty putt was not in sight.  Lakewood will not get the best of us like that anytime soon.  However, between the wet and cold we survived and managed to not lose any discs unlike some other players we saw on the course yesterday.

As for future games I am contemplating an evening game on New Years Eve.  Maybe 6PM at Sea-Tac.  It looks like we may have a few hours of not too much rain that evening.  Give us a chance to get the blood flowing before we head off to various parties.

Also, I am hoping to do the New Year’s Day game like we did last year.  For that one I am shooting for a 1:30PM Tee time at Lakewood.

Lastly, here is the final Ranking for 2008.  End of month accounting will kick in next week.  I expect it to help Richard and Cathy in particular.  Speaking of, Richard and Plympton flopped spots once again as the only movement on the board.  Leaderboard is below the fold.

Tentative Disc Golf round 12/28/08 @ Lakewood

Well I am hoping we can play a game this Sunday.  With a little over two days until then I am counting on the warmer weather and rain to melt most of this snow away.  If it looks like that is the case we will play at Lakewood with a tee time of 12:30PM.  If for some reason the snow is still here we may bail, so check in for an update here on Sunday morning.  Also, no matter what wear your best dry clothes as it is supposed to be a wet weekend.

Christmas Week for Roundbrand

Well folks, nothing to report from last week as the weather kept us all off the course.  I hope you all have safe and Happy Holidays this week.  For those of you traveling I wish you safe travels.

I am currently holding out hope that we may be able to play a round this upcoming weekend.  If I do schedule a game I will most likely post it Christmas night.  If the snow does not go away between now and then my plan will be to not play until next week.

Best wishes everyone and I hope to see you out on the course soon.

No Round this week

I do not see the snow going away by Sunday and as deep as it is in my neighborhood I am afraid we would lose a disc or ten.  So as of now I am planning on no game this weekend.  If you really need to play there is an Acepot at Lakewood on Sunday starting at 9:30AM.  Entry fee is $12 for Amateurs.

Cross your fingers that we can get a game in next week.

Roundbrand Results! 12/14/08 @ Lakewood

Five of us were willing to brave the cold, snow and crappy streets to play at Lakewood on Sunday.  Any romance that may have been involved in playing in the snow disappeared fast for me.  When the wind died down it wasn’t too bad, but when it was up it was too cold to be outside in.  Add in all the sledders, ATV riders and snowboarders and the park was a bit chaotic.

As for the game itself, my team just never really got it going.  We had a couple stretches where we played ok, but we were never in this game.  Jonathan was on fire even in the chilly conditions.  Add in Dean dropping some amazing second shots and putts and they ruled the day.  Scores are below the fold.

Just as an FYI, I seriously doubt I will be scheduling a game this upcoming weekend if the current weather pattern holds.  It looks like more snow is on the way and a high of 20 something is being called for on Sunday. If you all really want to play let me know and I may change my mind, but as of now I am thinking no.

Roundbrand Results! 12/7/08 @ White River & Disc Golf Nite Style 12/10/08 @ Lakewood

Well we only had four of us show up on Sunday for Disc Golf at White River.  Thankfully the rain did not start until right after we finished playing so it was actually a perfect day to play.

First we started off by playing two teams.  It went so quickly that we decided to all team up and see how fast we could move through the course again.  We managed to play all 18 holes in about 75 minutes which was impressive.  On top of that we went 2 under as a group.

I think Dean had a good time on his Birthday even though Linda and I beat his team handily.  I won’t spend too much time on the recap, but I thought everyone played quite well.  The only downside being that Dean and Richard hurt themselves early by missing some short putts.

Scores will be below the fold.

One quick note on our Night Disc Golf this week.  We are going to give Lakewood a try this time.  Due to the fact that they lock the gates up there at night let’s meet near Hole 14 by the big toy next to the lake.  Make sure you park outside the gates on the street so you do not get locked in.  Tee time is 6:30PM as usual. Dress for cold and wet.
