Let’s play Lakewood this Sunday at 1PM. My hope is to run through the round quickly, grab a bite and then go attack Sea-Tac. Let’s play two!!

Disc Golf Recap 4/13/08 @ White River & Lake Fenwick
Well, we knew it would happen eventually. However we did not see it happening so forcefully. Sometimes words fall short of describing a butt kicking like was doled out on Sunday at White River. I have been wanting to do some amazing write up for this because a barrier has been crossed for the Roundbrand crew, but time just never seems to be on my side. In short, after taking our beatings a few of us went to Lake Fenwick only to have it continue. Jonathan is REAL good. However, moment of silence for the river eating his Destroyer.
It was awesome to have Richard and Sarah join us for the first time. Cathy also made it out again, so all told we had 10 of us on the course. Great turnout! In general we played quite well, but Jonathan & Dad went under par to take the cake.
Afterwards we had a go for 11 holes at Fenwick and Jonathan and Cathy went under par on the final hole there. We were joined by Alan and his son Jason who I hope will join us again soon. Regrettably the rains came and removed any chance of catching up with Jonathan.
Here are the scores.
Disc Golf Recap 4/10/08 @ Lakewood
We had a nice after work round last Thursday at Lakewood with the same 6 people from the previous week. The good news was that I stayed in bounds for most of the round. The bad news was that Kara lost her Eagle in the mucky pond while shooting towards hole 15. Overall it was a well played round, but Jonathan and Ethan absolutely crushed us with an error free day.
Disc Golf Schedule – 2 Rounds!!!!!
This is short notice, but we are going to play a round of Disc Golf tomorrow night at Lakewood. Tee off no later than 6PM is the plan. We will try to power through and get done before dark settles in. My goal is to stay in bounds and stay dry.
Also for this week, we will be playing a round on Sunday at 1PM down at White River. This is quickly becoming a favorite course for me. Even if Hole 2 is seriously overgrown. For those who want more than 18 Holes, we will keep open the idea of rolling over to Lake Fenwick for a few more after we finish this round.
Hope to see you all out there!
Disc Golf Recap 4/6/08 @ North Sea-Tac
Let me just say that yesterday’s Roundbrand Disc Golf outing was one of my favorites yet. The only two things it truly missed were regulars Jonathan & Weaver. This round had it all. Amazing shots, overall good play and a very competitive finish. We were hit with a little rain here and there, but for the most part we seemed to avoid the predicted downpour. It was very cold by the end of the day, and as seems to be the norm, North Sea-Tac was very windy. That always seems to make putting an adventure.
You will notice Linda on the scorecard of two teams below. That is because she helped me through the first five holes before Ethan arrived. We knew he would be arriving late and had decided to add him on to the team that was sitting in last. As luck would have it, two teams were tied for last when he met up with us at Hole 6. So a coin was tossed and he was added to my team while Linda moved over to join “Team Nibs.”
Shot of the Day #1 – For those of you who have seen a pro play Hole 2 at Sea-Tac, you have seen someone calmly toss a shot over the huge mess of trees and bushes onto the green. For those of us who are less skilled we must play left of the trees and turn hard right back to the hole. That is what Kara and Nani had done. After 3 shots they were behind the tree next to the OB line at the mouth of the putting area. Nani calmly reached around the tree and with a flick of her wrist dropped a 42ft shot into the basket to save Bogey. It was an incredible shot for sure, and yet it was soon to be outmatched.
Shot of the Day #2 – On Hole 5 you have one of the very few chances at Sea-Tac to get a potential Birdie or at least a somewhat easy Par. Well, Jason and Dean had made a safe tee shot that left them away for their second shot. Off to the right hand side they had to shoot toward the trees that surround the basket. Jason calmly put a nice S-curve on his forehand shot that went between the big tree on the left and the many little trees on the right. His Innova Orc DX then lost speed and dropped down and hard right into the basket for a 145ft Birdie. Honestly, this is the kind of shot that you hope to see someone make every time you play this game. Ethan said he could hear us all hooting and hollering from the parking lot. It is only Jason’s second time out with us, but he has shown already that with a little practice he will be formidable foe.
As you can see below, all three teams finished within 3 strokes of each other. After having a 4 stroke lead through 9, Jason and Dean allowed Ethan and I to slowly whittle away at their lead. If not for Ethan getting on a roll, we would have been lost. However, after sitting one back for 4 straight holes we passed the leaders on 18 by getting a Bogey to their Triple Bogey.
Here are the scores.
Disc Golf Round 4/6/08 @ North Sea-Tac
I am calling this a very tentative schedule. The weather forecasts have been scary all week long. So here is the plan for tomorrow. If it is not completely nasty out then I will be at North Sea-Tac at 3PM for a round of Disc Golf. If it is cold, wet, windy and all round miserable then I will not bother.
Disc Golf Recap 3/30/08 @ Lakewood
I apologize for this, but time is something I seem to have very little of right now. So funny links and lengthy recaps are out this go around yet again.
To the point, six of us played and all played quite well. Weaver had to carry Alexis in the back carrier for a few holes which seriously hampered his throws. All told though I think we were just thankful that this awful Spring weather took a day off and we stayed dry and fairly warm.
Lastly, Dad made an awesome putt on 1 to give us a Birdie. Weaver landed next to the basket on 1 to Birdie. Jonathan drilled a long putt on 11 to Birdie. Other than that, lots of awesome shooting for everyone all around.
Here are the scores.
Happy April Fool’s Day
Why in the heck do we wish people a Happy Fool’s Day? Oh, it’s just me… okay then.
I was looking at the forecast for the upcoming weekend and realized I will not be in town to tee it up with you all over the weekend. So, what I would like to propose is a midweek round. Please let me know if any of you will have time after 5PM Thursday or Friday to tee up at Lakewood or even White River. Give me some feedback. Talk to you all soon!
