Alright Disc Golfers let’s end 2007 and start 2008 off right. We will be playing two rounds in the next 7 days. First a quick recap of 2007.

For those of you who do not know us at RoundBrand, other than Kara we are all new to the game of Disc Golf this year. Kara and I moved into Boulevard Park in January and one fine Sunday morning in February we took Jabu for a long walk through North Sea-Tac Park. We came upon the 18 hole course there and Kara explained the game to me. I have always enjoyed playing catch with Frisbees and Ultimate was a lot of fun before my knee went kaput, so I decided to give it a try. Our first couple of goes were with regular Frisbees, but soon we purchased our first Discs and started playing regularly. I am officially hooked. For years I have stoked my competitive fires by watching baseball and football, but this is the most enjoyable past time I have found yet. Largely the reason this has gripped me is because I am out doing something rather than observing. I will always enjoy viewing high level competition, but it is so much better to be off the couch than on it. Disc Golf is easy on the body, it is competitive, it is a walk in the park and a chance to hang with friends.

In 2007 we have introduced the game to many family and friends. On any given weekend you can find myself, Kara, Jonathan, Mikayla, Dean, Linda, Ethan & Nani, Mike & Maureen, Mike Weaver, John Neuharth, Logan, Les LeMieux, Patrick, Lisa & Avellina, Vince, Wendy, Tripp & Meaghan out playing Disc Golf. I hope I did not miss any regulars in that list. Hopefully in 2008 and we can grow our little club even more. There have been a lot of lost and found Discs this year, especially at Sea-Tac. Most of all though, we have had a blast getting together and enjoying each other’s company.

Jonathan and I are working hard to make this site a useful tool for finding places to play and links to events in the area. Watch for exciting new additions and for many great rounds of Disc Golf in 2008.

As for the upcoming rounds, I am excited to give my new Star Valkyrie and Warlock Putter a go this week. We are officially into Winter now, so while I am sure it will be wet and cold for awhile still, the days are getting longer. That means more options for where and when to play. This Sunday the 30th we will go for a 1:30PM Tee Time at North Sea-Tac. I figured we should end 2007 where it started for us. Dress warm and dry for this one because the forecast is nasty.

Our first round of 2008 will be on Tuesday the 1st at Lakewood. Tee time is 1PM. Let’s start the year off with a bang and get some scores in the 60′s!
