We had a very fast and enjoyable round of 18 at Lakewood last night. Jonathan, Dad and I were the only ones to show up. We decided to play best disc between the three of us to speed up the round in hopes of getting through the course before dark. It worked, and as a group we shot 30-33-63!

Another threesome was teeing it up as we got to the first hole. The third player made the best Folf shot I have ever seen to date. He dropped a laser shot that tailed left just a tiny bit at the end and fell in for a Hole in ONE! It was amazing to watch. It also reminded me of how far I have to go before I can consider myself decent at this sport.

As for our round, the shot of the day for me belonged to Dad. After I gave us a decent shot off the tee on #2, Dad stepped up and nearly drained a 50 foot putt. It was straight, true and the perfect height. Regrettably it had so much power that it rolled through the chains on the right side of the hole for an awesome near miss. Jonathan also had his usual assortment of clutch putts, drives and mid-ranges shots.

Lakewood is the one course that keeps things interesting with new tee placements on many of the holes. Last week they had moved #’s 1, 2 & 3. This time they had moved #’s 15, 16, 17 & 18 also. The new hole placement actually made the holes a bit shorter and easier which I will never complain about.

This weekend, Jonathan, Ethan, Nani, Kara and I are off to the Grand Lodge in Portland. They have a 10-Hole course on site which we are excited to try out. We will give a report when we get back.

Say Something!
